SUMMARY:Beginner Figure Drawing with Janet Horton
DESCRIPTION:This beginner figure drawing course will give students an opportunity to learn the basics of line and gestural drawing using the figure as your subject.  Focus will be on creating three-dimensional realistic imagery using two-dimensional media such as charcoal and pastel.  Techniques on shading\, elements of art and how to create a strong composition will be covered during this three-day course.  Developing a creative composition through daily sketches will provide resources for students as they begin to create using their own drawing style. Sketches will be reviewed each day and discussed.\n\n\n\nMeet the Instructor:\n\nJanet Horton\, a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design. Her passions are painting\, drawing\, and design. She studied landscape painting and drawing in Lacoste\, France while attending SCAD.  After graduating with a BFA in Fashion Design\, Janet spent six years designing in New York City for companies such as Macy's and Cole Haan Men's Outerwear.  After many years in NTC\, Janet and her husband moved their family back to the Lowcountry.  Janet is now a stay at home mom and loves to paint\, practice her art\, volunteer around Beaufort\, and spend time with her two daughters.
