DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendar today for the 6th Annual Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry's Cooks & Books celebration set for Sunday\, February 12\, 2012 from 11:30-3:00 PM at the Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa! \n\n \n\n The afternoon promises the perfect recipe for curing the mid-winter blahs. Sample gourmet food prepared by top restaurants in the Lowcountry. Mingle with Southern authors\, purchase autographed books and watch a heated chefs' competition. \n\n \n\n Coordinated by the Friends of Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry\, this highly anticipated event draws locals and visitors alike to an afternoon of food and fun for the entire family. Sonny Dixon of WTOC-TV Channel 11 will serve as master of ceremonies. \n\n \n\n Admission to Cooks & Books is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. The ticket includes unlimited tastings\, access to the Lowcountry authors\, the chefs' competition\, "The Heat Is On" and the opportunity to vote for a favorite tasting in "The Peoples' Choice." \n\n \n\n Begin the Cooks & Books weekend with an elegant Preview Party Friday\, February 10 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at TidePointe - A Vi Community on Hilton Head Island. Enjoy a lavish dinner buffet\, an open bar and a unique silent auction.
