DESCRIPTION:NAMI Beaufort County\, with USCB\, Hospice Care of America\, the Hilton Head Institute for Theology and the Arts\, and the Music Medicine Institute\, will present "Music & the Brain\," an educational forum focusing on the effects and uses of music as therapy\, on Monday\, February 11\, at the USCB Bluffton Campus Library beginning at 4:00pm.\n\n\n\nThe program will include presentations by local music therapists at 5:00pm\, representing the Music Therapy Association of South Carolina and the Music Medicine Institute\, as well as a special presentation at 6:00pm by Prof. Dale B. Taylor\, Ph.D.\, MTBC\, highlighting his book\, The Biomedical Theory of Music Therapy. Gifts of musical talent of several local musicians will weave music into the evening's presentations\, and local community resources will be on hand with information on their programs and services available throughout the community.
