DESCRIPTION:The Wilmington NC based nonprofit organization paws4vets is organizing a Family/Dog Scavenger Hunt in downtown Beaufort starting and ending at the Historic Beaufort Arsenal.\n\n\n\nWith support from local businesses and military organizations\, as well as individuals who support the military\, the goal is raise money to directly help more Veterans get a badly needed Service Dog and help prevent some of the 8\,000 veteran suicides that will happen this year.\n\n\n\nSince 1999\, paws4people Foundation and paws4vets has been training and placing Assistance (Service) Dogs with Active-Duty Military and Veterans with disabilities to help them with issues from Post-Traumatic Stress to missing limbs and more. Event coordinators Miami and Shelly Phillips are honored to have the opportunity to spend three months in Beaufort while organizing and hosting both events.\n\n\n\nThe support and encouragement everyone from the staff at the golf course and the military organizations to the Chamber and local businesses has been nothing short of amazing says Miami Phillips of paws4vets.\n\n\n\nWe are extremely blessed to be able to be here in one of the most beautiful places in America with some of the best people to be found and fortunate enough to be a part of helping our wounded military members
