DESCRIPTION:Printeresting: Screen Printing 101 with Mattie Parrott \n\n\n\nDuring this one-day class\, students will create hand-drawn and cut stencils and transfer images through silkscreen to create a custom print. A screen is what differentiates screen printing from basic stenciling- the mesh of the screen allows a more even distribution of ink\, making prints more precise and consistent than by hand printing with a stencil alone.\n\n\n\nMeet the instructor:\n\nMattie Parrott is a lifetime Beaufort County local and BFA graduate of Clemson University. She concentrated her studies in printmaking\, but enjoys working in any and all visual art mediums. Mattie relies on local flora and fauna and her personal memories and experiences as inspiration. Mattie has professional experience working in several aspects of art and design including teaching\, sales\, and restoration and preservation. In addition to working in oils and mixed media\, she enjoys going to the beach or the river\, watching college football and traveling. Mattie currently lives in Bluffton with her husband and enormous dog\, Beau.
