SUMMARY:We Honor Veterans Volunteer Training
DESCRIPTION:Friends of Caroline is a level one partner of the We Honor Veterans program\,  offering an innovative model in caring for Veterans at the end of life.  All staff members are specifically trained to meet the unique needs of each Veteran with continuous education and training  on Veterans and their end-of-life needs.\n\n\n\nAll Veterans receiving hospice services have the opportunity to be recognized through a special "ceremony"\, our way of showing thanks and appreciation to our Veteran patient's service.  All available staff members attend this ceremony and each Veteran is encouraged to invite friends and family.  Active duty military volunteers are an integral part of offering the appreciation ceremony\, and are encouraged to volunteer.  \n\n\n\nAdditionally\, Friends of Caroline is offering Veteran-to-Veteran volunteers\, pairing recruited Veteran Volunteers with hospice patients who have been identified as Veterans. \n\n\n\nIn this training\, volunteers will learn about the We Honor Veterans/Friends of Caroline partnership\, and how to provide care to our Veteran patients.
