Simply Grand Band Mother's Day Concert

After years of performing together locally and throughout Northeast Florida, Simply Grand was organized in 2010. The nucleus of the group includes Keyboardist Kenneth Varner, Saxophonist Gregory Whittaker, and Drummer Trevor Daniels. The trio of musicians soon discovered a certain "chemistry" and musical affinity that led to their formation of Simply Grand. The Inside Story being mainly instrumental, Simply Grand is a very versatile musical ensemble that has a unique ability to shift between Contemporary Jazz, Gospel, and Blues with a large degree of ease.

One the band's most notable performances occurred during the Beaufort 300 celebration in which the group played to a packed house at the Beaufort Waterfront Park. According to the Island Packet, "There were other voices lifted up in joy: choirs from Carteret Street United Methodist Church and Tabernacle Baptist; musician Charlie Frost of Sea Island Presbyterian Church; and the five-piece band Simply Grand led the crowd through the many eras of the city's past including the colonial, antebellum, Civil War, reconstruction and modern periods".

Tickets are $12 per person, $7 for children (12 and under)
