Description
The Beaufort County Historical Society announces the Jubilee of Freedom presented by Coastal States Bank & Mitchelville Preservation Project . Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the reading of the Emancipation Proclamation. This historical document was originally read in Beaufort on January 1, 1863, the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was presented to Congress on January 31, 1863.
