paws4vets - Downtown Beaufort Family/Dog Scavenger Hunt

The Wilmington NC based nonprofit organization paws4vets is organizing a Family/Dog Scavenger Hunt in downtown Beaufort starting and ending at the Historic Beaufort Arsenal.

With support from local businesses and military organizations, as well as individuals who support the military, the goal is raise money to directly help more Veterans get a badly needed Service Dog and help prevent some of the 8,000 veteran suicides that will happen this year.

Since 1999, paws4people Foundation and paws4vets has been training and placing Assistance (Service) Dogs with Active-Duty Military and Veterans with disabilities to help them with issues from Post-Traumatic Stress to missing limbs and more. Event coordinators Miami and Shelly Phillips are honored to have the opportunity to spend three months in Beaufort while organizing and hosting both events.

The support and encouragement everyone from the staff at the golf course and the military organizations to the Chamber and local businesses has been nothing short of amazing says Miami Phillips of paws4vets.
