Join us for the 31st Annual Heritage Days Celebration November 7-9, 2013 and discover a unique sense of place at Penn Center a National Historic Landmark District. The Penn Center is designed to promote and preserve the
history and culture of the Sea Islands and is "Celebrating 150 Years of Education, Leadership and
Service (2012-2014). Heritage Days will showcase the history of Penn School which was established in
1862, and the rich cultural legacy of the Gullah Geechee people of the Sea Islands. Enjoy African Drummers
and Dancers, Gullah Storytellers and Re-Actors, Singers & Artisans, Gullah & Lowcountry
Cuisine, the Gullah Roots Village, Fish Fry, Oyster Roast & the Blues, Artists & Authors Row,
