Bluffton’s artisan markets are back! The Bluffton Artisan Market is an open-air shipping event with live music that features local makers from 1-6 p.m. Saturdays September 19, October 3, October 17 and November 14 in the Southern Barrel parking lot in Buckwalter Plaza in Bluffton. A two-day Christmas market will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 27-28. “We are excited to gear up for the fall series of the Bluffton Artisan Market! It’s a wonderful opportunity to support local makers and engage with the creative community,” said Katie Silva, founder of Lowcountry Made, the organization sponsoring the events. “We insist that everyone - vendors and attendees - wear masks and practice other social distancing best practices.” Registration is underway for vendors to book their booths for the events. The cost is $45 per market for early registration before August 31, $55 for late registration; and $30 per market for Lowcountry Made members. To register, visit lcmade.com. Lowcountry Made is a promotional organization that represents a collective of Lowcountry artists, artisans, and entrepreneurs creating in the Lowcountry. They promote their “shop small” agenda with an online directory, maker to shopper newsletter, special events, and wholesaling representation. The organization’s goal is to provide opportunities for local makers to help their brands succeed whatever each maker’s goals may be. “The open air markets provide an opportunity for families to get out of the house and feel a part of their community again in a safe way,” Silva said. Sponsorships are available for businesses to get involved in the market in a fun and creative way! Sponsorships include print and digital advertising and a professionally designed selfie backdrop installation at all of the markets. “There are 4 sponsorship opportunities available. Each sponsor gets to work with a professional designer to put their twist on the backdrop. It will include a wooden cut out of the sponsor's business name, logo, or hashtag!” said Silva. “It’ll add some excitement to the market and give other types of local businesses a chance to engage with our shoppers.”
