Job Summary
We are seeking an outgoing, customer-focused Part-Time Clubhouse Attendant to join our team and help deliver exceptional service to every guest. In this role, you will wear many hats from greeting golfers and introducing them to the TrackMan system, to serving drinks and keeping the facility in top shape, all with a focus on hospitality and fun. This is a unique opportunity to join a new business at the ground level; as one of our first team members, you’ll play a key role in shaping the Egret & Iron experience and making every visitor feel welcome. If you have a friendly, fun and welcoming personality, love providing great customer service, and don’t mind evening/weekend work in a social sports environment, we’d love to meet you!
Key Responsibilities
-
Guest Welcome & Orientation: Greet and assist customers with a warm, friendly attitude, explaining our services and facility offerings. Introduce every newcomer to the space and offer guidance on how to use the TrackMan golf simulators, ensuring they feel comfortable getting set up.
-
Customer Service: Curate a first-class experience for all members and guests by being attentive and engaging. Answer questions about simulator features, available courses, pricing, or membership plans. Foster a fun, inclusive environment where everyone feels at home.
-
Simulator Operation & Support: Operate the TrackMan golf simulators during your shift and monitor their functionality. Assist customers with setting up their sessions on the simulator and adjust settings or troubleshoot minor tech issues as needed to keep gameplay running smoothly. (We will provide training on the TrackMan system.)
-
Food & Beverage Service: Serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks from our bar, as well as provide pre-packaged snacks. Ensure responsible alcohol service (checking IDs and observing consumption guidelines) while keeping the vibe social and enjoyable. Our menu is small but curated. You’ll be pouring drinks and chatting with guests to make them feel at ease.
-
Point-of-Sale & Transactions: Handle all sales through our point-of-sale system, including simulator time bookings, beverage/snack sales, and merchandise or membership purchases. Accurately ring up transactions and manage cash/credit card handling with attention to detail and honesty.
-
Member Sign-ups & Front Desk: Perform intake for new members – help prospective members fill out membership forms, explain membership options and benefits, and enter their information into our system. Promote our membership packages or leagues when appropriate. Additionally, manage front-desk duties such as answering the phone in a professional manner and assisting callers or walk-in guests with booking reservations or general inquiries.
-
Facility Upkeep & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, inviting clubhouse environment throughout your shift. Wipe down simulator screens and equipment between sessions and keep the bay areas tidy. Restock the fridge with drinks and replenish snacks as needed. Perform light cleaning tasks like sweeping up, taking out trash, and ensuring garbage bins are emptied to keep the space presentable for all guests.
-
Closing/Open Duties: Depending on shift, assist with opening or closing procedures. This may include powering on/off simulators, counting the cash drawer, securing the facility, and double-checking that everything is cleaned up and put away at closing time.
-
Social Media & Event Support (Optional): If you have a knack for social media, you’re welcome to help capture fun moments in the club (with guest permission) and brainstorm content for our Facebook/Instagram. While not required, an eye for creating engaging posts or promoting events is a plus and can grow our community online.
Qualifications & Skills
-
Excellent Customer Service Skills: Friendly, enthusiastic demeanor with strong communication skills – able to converse with customers and make them feel welcome and comfortable. A genuine hospitality mindset is critical in this role.
-
Experience in Hospitality/Retail: Prior experience in a customer-facing role (hospitality, retail, food & beverage, etc.) is preferred. Bartending or food service experience is a bonus, as it means you’re comfortable serving drinks and handling F&B tasks.
-
Knowledge of Golf (Preferred): A basic understanding of golf or golf simulators is a plus. You don’t have to be a pro, but knowing golf etiquette and terminology helps as it enables you to better assist customers and discuss our offerings. (If you’re not a golfer yet, you should be eager to learn!)
-
Tech-Savvy: Comfortable with computers and learning new technology. Our TrackMan system is user-friendly, but you’ll need to operate the simulator software and troubleshoot simple issues, as well as use the POS system. Technical aptitude and the ability to learn electronic systems are important.
-
Responsible & Trustworthy: Must be 21 or older (required for alcohol service) and able to follow all laws and guidelines for serving beer/wine. Having an alcohol service certification (e.g. ServSafe or TIPS) is a plus. You will often be working independently, so we need someone who is reliable, self-motivated, and can handle responsibility without close supervision.
-
Team Player Attitude: Since we are a small operation, you should be willing to pitch in wherever needed and work collaboratively with the owner/manager. A positive attitude and willingness to take initiative go a long way.
-
Multitasking & Organization: Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak hours. For example, you might be balancing helping a group at the simulator, answering a phone call, and serving a drink – all almost at once. Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure will help.
-
Availability: Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Our public hours are Wednesday through Sunday, roughly 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so shifts will fall within those times. Expect to work night and weekend shifts as needed. We will schedule around 20–30 hours per week, potentially more as we grow. Flexibility in scheduling is appreciated.
-
Physical Requirements: Able to stand and move around for extended periods (our shifts can be up to 6–8 hours on your feet). Ability to lift and carry up to ~30 lbs (e.g. a case of beer or a full trash bag) when stocking the fridge or taking out garbage.
-
Bonus – Social Media Savvy: Not required, but if you’re familiar with Instagram, Facebook, or other social media from a business perspective, it’s a plus. Creativity in capturing the fun of Egret & Iron for online audiences is welcomed.
Compensation & Benefits
-
Hourly Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour (based on experience and skills).
-
Hours: Part-time, approximately 20–30 hours per week. Shifts will predominantly be evenings and weekends (Wednesday–Sunday).
-
Employee Perks: Enjoy a free membership or playing time on our TrackMan simulators and discounts on food and beverages as part of our team (details to be discussed upon hire). Working in a fun golf environment comes with the benefit of honing your swing on the simulators during off-peak times!
-
Growth Opportunity: Egret & Iron is a new and growing company, and we’re looking for team members who want to grow with us. As our first hire, you will have the chance to take on more responsibility over time and potentially grow into a larger role as the business expands.
